Hyundai’s Lowest Profit in Three Years Shows US Tariff Hit

Hyundai Motor Co. reported its lowest quarterly profit in more than three years as South Korea’s largest automaker faced persistent pressure from US tariffs and the pullback of the electric vehicle transition in some markets.

Operating profit was 1.7 trillion won ($1.2 billion) for the three months ended Dec. 31, down about 40% from a year earlier and the lowest since 2022. The results missed analyst estimates for 2.7 trillion won and came despite revenue of 46.8 trillion won, a record for the fourth quarter.
