Evercore Pauses Offers to Canadian Workers Amid Visa Concerns

Evercore Inc. is pausing recruitment from Canada because of difficulties in securing work visas for prospective employees, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The New York-based investment-banking firm doesn’t want to spend time interviewing candidates they ultimately can’t hire for immigration reasons, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing confidential information. Its recruitment efforts in the country have previously included tapping new graduates from Canadian schools such as Western University and Queen’s University.
