Apple Inc.’s new Creator Studio software bundle represents a new test for the company’s fast-growing services business: What happens when the tech giant packages some of its most popular creative apps into a recurring subscription?

The suite, which became available Wednesday, offers access to what the company calls an “all-star” collection of creative apps. This includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro — plus exclusive features for Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform, software that’s typically been free to use for Apple device owners. The bundle costs $12.99 a month or $129 a year after a one-month free trial. Most of the tentpole apps are available across both Mac and iPad; Pixelmator Pro is making its iPad debut as part of the bundle’s launch.
