In a rare occurrence in their long and intertwined histories, Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. are set to report earnings on the same day, the latest salvo in their high-stakes race in AI memory chips.

The dual earnings calls on Thursday are expected to underscore a surge in demand for high-performance memory used in artificial intelligence servers and data centers. They’re also expected to reflect soaring memory prices across the broader electronics industry as chipmakers focus on advanced memory production at the expense of conventional chips.
