NNPC-Chevron Venture Makes Discovery in Shallow Nigerian Waters

Nigeria’s state oil company and a local unit of Chevron Corp. completed a “successful” appraisal and exploration well in a shallow offshore area.

The joint venture finished the Awodi-07 well in the western Niger Delta region in December. “Results from the well are highly encouraging, confirming a significant presence of hydrocarbons across multiple reservoir zones,” the Nigeria National Petroleum Co. said in a statement on Monday.
