Malawi’s President Names George Partridge New Central Bank Head

Malawian President Peter Mutharika named George Partridge as the new governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, replacing MacDonald Mafuta Mwale.

Before being appointed governor, Partridge served in the Mutharika cabinet as Minister of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism. He was previously chief executive officer of the Blantyre-based National Bank of Malawi and had also led the country’s largest conglomerate, Press Corporation Limited.
