Jeff Bezos-backed Blue Origin is building a satellite communication network to deliver connectivity to data centers, governments and businesses, the company said on Wednesday.

The satellite network, called TeraWave, will be composed of over 5,000 satellites in both low- and medium-Earth Orbit. The network will be able to deliver data speeds of up to six terabytes per second anywhere on the planet and service tens of thousands of users for critical operations.
