Copper Drops on Concern Record Prices Hurting Demand in China
Copper fell with most base metals, as investors weighed the scope for demand destruction in top buyer China after prices hit a record.
Three-month futures fell toward $12,900 a ton in London, dropping for the third time in four days. In China, demand from fabricators has slumped after prices surged, with the Yangshan premium on imports — one gauge of consumption — halving over the past month to the lowest level since mid-2024.
