Starmer Rebukes Trump Tariff Threats as ‘Completely Wrong’

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Donald Trump’s threats of new tariffs on European nations would damage the British economy as he issued his strongest rebuke yet against the US president.

“The use of tariffs against allies is completely wrong,” Starmer said at a Monday-morning press conference called in response to Trump’s weekend announcement. He doubled down on his support for Denmark over Trump’s claims to Greenland, saying “there is a principle here that cannot be set aside because it goes to the heart of how stable and trusted international cooperation works.”
