Tony Blair, the former UK prime minister who’s been appointed to the executive panel of Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, distanced himself from the president’s demand that countries pay $1 billion for permanent membership.

Blair declined to endorse the request for the funds, which is part of a draft charter for the nascent organization, in a further sign that the details of the peace board are provoking opposition from US allies and partners over Trump’s project.
