Lawyers for the 22-year-old man accused of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk are seeking to disqualify local prosecutors in the case over an alleged conflict of interest.

Because the adult child of one of the lawyers in the Utah County Attorney’s Office was present at the event where Kirk was fatally shot, the agency should not be allowed to continue prosecuting the case, lawyers for Tyler James Robinson said during a Friday court hearing.
