Ex-General Catalyst Leader Bonatsos Targets $300 Million New Fund
Niko Bonatsos and Michael Fertik are raising cash for a new firm called Verdict Capital.
Former General Catalyst managing director Niko Bonatsos is raising $250 million to $300 million with entrepreneur Michael Fertik to start a new venture capital firm, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.
Bonatsos, who left General Catalyst this month after 15 years, invested early in artificial intelligence hiring startup Mercor and gaming messaging application Discord Inc. He was also a co-leader of General Catalyst’s early-stage practice. He and Fertik are seeking to write checks for young startups across multiple industries, including artificial intelligence.
