Microsoft Investigated by Swiss Regulator over Licensing Fees

Switzerland’s competition commission has begun a preliminary investigation into Microsoft Corp. over the licensing fees it charges clients in the country after receiving complaints over recent price increases.

The “significant” price hikes for Microsoft 365, a package used by businesses as well as government agencies, will be examined to see whether they constitute “an unlawful restriction of competition,” the regulator known as Comco said in a statement on Wednesday.
