Insight Partners Hires VC Veteran Malayery for Secondaries Push

Tech-focused private-asset firm Insight Partners is breaking into secondaries, bringing on an executive from a rival to lead its first strategy dedicated to backing continuation funds and snapping up secondhand stakes.

The venture capital firm’s new strategy will invest in vehicles that allow asset managers to hold onto prized or hard-to-sell portfolio firms longer. It will also buy stakes in closely held companies directly from the private stakeholders, potentially cashing out early employees.
