Former South African Minister Quits DA Party Amid Internal Rift

South Africa’s former environment minister and head of finance of the Democratic Alliance, Dion George, has resigned from the party and as a national lawmaker.

“The situation has become intolerable,” he said in a video recording screened by broadcaster eNCA. “I’m being pushed out and it is no longer feasible for me to remain in the party.”
