The US-backed president-elect of Honduras vowed to take office this month despite the outgoing leader demanding a recount of the vote, promising he’ll move quickly to boost growth and lure investment to the Central American country.

Nasry “Tito” Asfura, the conservative construction magnate declared the winner of the Nov. 30 election, called on the government of outgoing leftist President Xiomara Castro to respect the will of voters in the nation of 11 million people.
