Slovenian Premier Pressured to Resign Two Months Before Ballot

Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob came under opposition pressure to resign before March 22 general elections over a claim by the nation’s anti-graft watchdog that he abused his powers.

The call for him to quit comes as he trails his main opponent, right-wing leader and three-time Premier Janez Jansa, in polls. Slovenia’s anti-corruption watchdog said Golob breached integrity rules by meddling in police affairs in 2022, state news agency STA reported late on Tuesday.
