Germany’s co-ruling Social Democrats criticized Deutsche Lufthansa AG over its deal to use Elon Musk-backed SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet network, saying it should have chosen a domestic operator like Deutsche Telekom AG.

Isabel Cademartori, a spokeswoman for transportation policy for the SPD’s parliamentary caucus, said the agreement opens Lufthansa up to making itself dependent on US technology at a time of “intense debate about greater European sovereignty.”
