Carlyle Group Considers Equity in Ben Dell’s Commonwealth LNG

Private equity firm Carlyle Group Inc. is considering investing in Commonwealth LNG, owned by Ben Dell’s Kimmeridge Energy Management Co., according to people familiar with the matter.

The potential backing would come in the form of an equity stake, said the people, who asked not to be named because the information is private. If finalized, Carlyle’s backing would be a shot in the arm for Commonwealth LNG, a proposed liquefied natural gas export project in Louisiana.
