Extreme Networks Weighs Buying Ruckus from CommScope

Extreme Networks Inc. is exploring an acquisition of Ruckus Networks from CommScope Holding Co., according to people familiar with the matter.

Extreme has been evaluating a cash-and-stock deal that could value the provider of Wi-Fi and networking systems at more than $1 billion, said the people, who asked to not be identified because the discussions are private.
