Schonfeld Backs Startup That Gives Access to Indian Hedge Funds

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is backing a London-based startup that gives investors access to India’s equity markets by allocating to hedge funds in the South Asian country.

Sarda Capital, which currently has tie-ups with five money managers in India via separately-managed accounts, launched last month with $100 million from Schonfeld, according to people familiar with the matter. Sarda will run Schonfeld’s money in an SMA on a non-exclusive basis, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private information.
