Malaysia Graftbusters Detain Ex-Army Chief, Wives Over Probe

Malaysian authorities detained a former army chief and his two wives as part of their ongoing investigation into suspected irregularities in army procurement.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said the three were among five people detained Wednesday to assist in a graft probe. They were brought to the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court the following morning, which issued a seven-day remand order for the former army chief and six- and three-day orders for his wives, Bernama reported.
