Zambia Held Early Talks With China Over Potential Currency Swap

Zambia held preliminary talks with China on a potential currency swap that could help mitigate risks in dealings with the southern African nation’s largest bilateral creditor, a senior finance ministry official said.

The technical-level discussions took place as Zambia focused on concluding a years—long debt-restructuring process, Masitala Mushinga, director in its debt-management office, told reporters in Lusaka, the capital, on Tuesday.
