Aldi Reports Record UK Christmas Sales as Shoppers Seek Savings

Aldi reported record Christmas sales in the UK as consumers sought to save money on their festive shopping basket.

Sales rose 3% from a year earlier to £1.65 billion ($2.2 billion) in the four weeks to Dec. 24, the discounter said Monday. In the week leading up to Christmas, total sales rose more than 5% to around £500 million.
