From Starmer’s Dire Ratings to Reeves’ Taxes: UK Year in Numbers

With the UK economy stagnant and Labour tanking in the polls, it’s safe to say 2025 hasn’t gone to plan for Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

After leading his party to a huge Parliamentary majority in 2024, Starmer failed to capitalize, being forced by his own lawmakers into expensive policy reversals on winter fuel payments to pensioners, disability benefit cuts and a hike in inheritance tax for farmers.
