Cold Snap Lifts French Nuclear Output to Highest Since 2019
France’s nuclear fleet is generating more electricity than at any point in almost seven years as power demand rises on the back of a cold snap.
The country’s reactors saw their highest combined output since January 2019 as of 10 a.m. in Paris, generating more than 56 gigawatts. Power demand rose to 75 gigawatts on Wednesday, the highest since February.
