The S&P 500 Index closed little changed on Tuesday, with tech megacaps mixed. Volume trailed the 20-day average by around 44%, following Monday’s roughly 40% drop.

The Nasdaq 100 Index and Bloomberg’s Magnificent Seven Index also ended the day flat. Energy and communications led S&P 500 sectors in the green. Consumer discretionary, financials and industrials led declining sectors.
