UK Minister Fuels Leadership Talk With Customs Union Comment

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has appeared to suggest the UK should rejoin a customs union with the European Union, opening a dividing line with Keir Starmer just weeks after he denied accusations that he was plotting a coup against the prime minister.

In an interview with the Observer newspaper published over the weekend, Streeting ruled out a return to the single market but hinted that he would be supportive of customs union membership.
