Deutsche Telekom AG has made a strategic investment in Quantum Systems, a German drone developer active in Ukraine, marking one of the most significant forays into defense for Europe’s largest telecom operator.
The telecommunication firm’s T.Capital will make the investment through its €2 billion ($2.3 billion) tech fund to develop technology that will protect “critical infrastructure in Germany and Europe,” Deutsche Telekom said in a statement on Monday. The company didn’t share financial terms.
