Four Dead in Smoke Bomb, Knife Attack at Central Taipei

Authorities increased security measures and police presence following smoke grenade and stabbing attacks in Taipei, Taiwan, on Dec. 19.

Four people have died in Taiwan and several others are injured after a man set off smoke bombs in the capital’s main train station and later attacked passersby in a shopping district during the Friday night rush hour.

The suspect is among the fatalities after falling from a building, the semi-official Central News Agency reported. A total of 11 people were injured, and police have ruled out terrorism, according to CNA.
