Finnish Bankruptcies Hit Highest Since 1997, Led by Builders
Bankruptcies in Finland reached the highest level in almost three decades, with construction companies driving the insolvencies.
The data adds to the grim picture for the northernmost member of the euro area, which has been Europe’s worst performing since 2020. It’s hurt by weak demand in Europe, most notably key export market Germany, as well as sanctions against neighboring Russia and rising unemployment.
