Toyota CEO to Lead Japan Auto Lobby as Headwinds Rock Carmakers

Toyota Motor Corp. Chief Executive Officer Koji Sato will helm the Japan Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, steering the group at a critical time as the industry faces heightened uncertainties from tariffs to chip shortages.

He’ll take on the role as chairman on Jan. 1, JAMA said in a statement on Thursday. Sato will replace Isuzu Motors Ltd. CEO Masanori Katayama, who held the role for a year.
