Brazil’s congress expelled Jair Bolsonaro’s son Thursday less than a month after the former president began serving a 27-year sentence.

Eduardo Bolsonaro, who represented Sao Paulo in the lower house, has been in the US since early 2025 lobbying Republicans for support in his father’s legal battles. Lawmakers decided he was away for too long after his leave of absence expired in June.
