Boeing Co. selected Anduril Industries to provide rocket motors for an interceptor to counter cruise missiles and drones in its bid for a US Army contract, a move that comes as the Trump administration seeks to broaden the base of weapons suppliers and accelerate production.

“This partnership is a major step forward in strengthening the industrial base and ensuring our warfighters receive the reliable, modern capabilities they need,” Burhan Muzaffar, Anduril’s senior vice president, said in a statement Thursday.
