President Donald Trump paid tribute to two US soldiers and an interpreter killed in an ambush in Syria as their remains were returned Wednesday to Delaware’s Dover Air Force Base.

Trump took part in the solemn event — known as a dignified transfer — meant to honor the fallen service members days after they were killed by a gunman the Defense Department has linked to ISIS. Beforehand, Trump met privately with family members of the fallen, according to the White House.
