BBVA SA is weighing a series of large share buybacks as it seeks to return capital to investors following its failed bid for Banco Sabadell SA.

BBVA could unveil a repurchase of about €2 billion as a first tranche, with more to follow, according to a person familiar with the matter. The bank has already been looking for an adviser to help it implement a program of that size, the person said.
