US 30-Year Yield Closes at Highest Since September on Fed Moves

Long-term Treasuries fell, pushing the 30-year bond’s yield to the highest level since early September, as the implications of this week’s Federal Reserve interest-rate cut and policy stance filtered into the market.

The 30-year bond’s yield closed at 4.85%, moving higher during the week. The rate on policy-sensitive two-year notes ended lower, carrying over a move that began Wednesday when the Fed cut interest rates by a quarter point as expected.
