Moderna Founder Warns US Doubts on Science Threaten Biotech Edge

The US risks falling behind in biotechnology as the government cuts funding and skepticism over vaccines grows, according to Moderna Inc.’s co-founder and Chairman Noubar Afeyan.

“It’s an unfortunate time to doubt science,” Afeyan told Bloomberg TV. “This is all happening at a time when China, having invested quite strongly in the last few years, is coming on in every different aspect of biotechnology. And they don’t have these concerns.”
