France’s efforts to adopt a budget could roll into next year as divisions remain among lawmakers and senators despite a breakthrough on the social security bill, the government said.
Representatives from both houses of parliament will meet early next week to try to agree on a version of the 2026 finance bill. If they fail, the government could use a so-called special law to roll over taxation and spending from this year as debate continues into early 2026.
