IMF Board Set to Meet This Month on Sri Lanka Emergency Financing

The executive board of the International Monetary Fund is expected to meet this month to decide on a Rapid Financing Instrument for Sri Lanka as it rebuilds from the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah, an official said.

The IMF board is currently considering the Rapid Financing Instrument request from Sri Lanka as a priority, a spokesperson for the lender said late Monday, adding the exact date for the meeting would be announced in due course. The official was responding to questions from Bloomberg News and asked to be referred to as a spokesperson.
