The European Union won’t be cowed by US attacks on how it polices Silicon Valley firms, the bloc’s competition chief Teresa Ribera warned.

“We are not going to accept any type of subordination on how we play our roles,” Ribera told reporters on the sidelines of a Brussels event on Tuesday. “On the contrary, we are going to stand up and to defend what we think is our duty.”
