Airbus SE’s revised aircraft delivery target for 2025 is “disappointing” for carriers and also fostering a loss of confidence in the European manufacturer, the head of the industry’s top lobby group said Tuesday.

Trimming its full-year goal by 30 planes will lead to fewer new aircraft feeding into fleets, meaning airlines will have to hang on to costly leases and fly older jets for longer, International Air Transport Association Director General Willie Walsh said. That will cost them money.
