Altice International Rebuffs Creditor Claims Over Unit Moves

Photographer: Benjamin Girette/BloombergAltice International is pushing back against creditor demands for more information about its recent transactions in the first written exchange since the telecom operator moved its Portugal and Dominican Republic businesses beyond lenders’ reach.
In the letter dated Dec. 5, the firm’s lawyers said the moves were made in the company’s interest and rejected the assertion that it “engaged in any market-misleading behavior.” The company representatives also pushed back on claims made by the creditors that they had previously tried to “open discussions in good faith and engage in constructive dialogue.”
