Italy’s market regulator ruled out the existence of an undisclosed investor pact involving Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA and some of its shareholders in its bid for Mediobanca SpA, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.

Consob, the market watchdog, said in September that months of investigation found there was no concealed agreement among the investors and Monte Paschi and no signs of coordinated action that would trigger mandatory-bid rules, Il Sole reported.
