Ethiopian Government Sees Debt Overhaul Concluded by Mid-2026

Ethiopia aims to conclude its debt-restructuring process under the Group of 20 Common Framework by mid-2026, Finance Minister Ahmed Shide said.

The authorities in the Horn of Africa country are making “significant progress” on concluding agreements with official creditors, while continuing to engage with private lenders on an overhaul of its loans, Ahmed said at a briefing on Friday in the capital, Addis Ababa.
