A Singapore High Court upheld a conviction against Pritam Singh, leader of the opposition, for lying to a parliamentary committee.

The 49-year-old leader of the Workers’ Party was ordered to pay the maximum fine of S$7,000 ($5,405) for each of the charges, below the S$10,000 threshold for each penalty that would automatically disqualified him from Parliament for five years.
