Farage Supporters Set to Launch New Lobby Group for Business

Affiliates of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK are preparing to launch a business lobby group, as the upstart political party tries to match its lofty poll ratings with credibility around governance.

The group being called the Great British Business Council will be headed by Mark Thompson — who is, like Farage, a former commodities trader. The attempt at formalizing the party’s links with corporations arrives as newly published electoral commission data for the third quarter showed Reform UK amassing £10 million ($13 million) in donations, far surpassing rival parties and its own previous record.
