Comcast Cable Spinoff Makes Acquisitions, Sets Kalshi Tie-In

Versant Media Group Inc., the company being spun off from Comcast Corp., is making acquisitions to diversify beyond its core business of cable-TV networks.

The parent of channels such as USA and CNBC is acquiring Free TV Networks, operator of ad-supported channels such as the Western-themed Outlaw, and Busted, which offers crime fare. Those channels are distributed over the air and online.
