China ‘Strongly Deplores’ Latest UK Delay on Embassy Decision

China condemned the UK for again delaying a decision on whether it can open a new embassy in London, escalating a dispute just before Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s expected visit next month.

“We strongly deplore the UK side’s repeated postponement of the decision on the planning application for the new Chinese Embassy project,” a spokesman for Beijing’s embassy said in a statement on Tuesday.
