UK’s Troubled OBR Complained to Treasury About Budget Leaks

Britain’s fiscal watchdog complained to senior Treasury officials over leaks to media about the state of the economy in the build up to last week’s budget.

The Office for Budget Responsibility told the government that stories citing details about its forecasts “were not helpful, and that we weren’t in a position to put them right,” the watchdog’s head of economic analysis, David Miles, told lawmakers on Tuesday.
